New databases, new integrations – even more seamless access.

Doug Depies

Allowing library administrators to handle their own accounts has always been a priority for us here at Eclat Engineering.  That’s not to say we are going to leave you high and dry at any point, but rather you will have our full support in making your own decisions in your own way.

That’s one of the reasons for the master list of databases in MyLOFT, allowing administrators to easily add databases to the eResource list, without the need of IT help. (No stanzas, no coding, nothing…)  Just search for your desired database, click the “+” symbol and it is added to your institution’s eResource list.

On top of making it easy for administrators, we are also always looking to expand that master list, that’s why we are proud to share that we now have over 1,500 databases in the master list! (1,608 to be exact!)  In the last six months alone, we’ve added 158 new databases to the list!

But we don’t stop there!  Adding databases is not the end of the journey, we are continually striving to create better integrations with publishers and databases, making the user experience even smoother and seamless.  That has led us to enabling SSO integration with a number of large databases, allowing users to seamlessly access their personal account directly from MyLOFT.

Recent MyLOFT SSO database integrations:

  • OverDrive
  • Infobase
  • DTPlus(DigitalTheatre)
  • Proquest

This is just one of the ways MyLOFT is continually striving to offer the best eResource management platform, both for librarians and users.
